Correspondence to Morley Roberts, 1910-1930.

On John Galsworthy's letter of 1910, Morley Roberts has noted that he believes it was the first letter he ever received from Galsworthy; the next letter after that is dated 1916. The correspondence reflects a friendship that includes occasional references to their reading each other's works; to W. H. Hudson, a mutual friend; to other writers or literary works; and to their seeing each other, with references to and news of Galsworthy's wife, Ada (see separate correspondence file, folder 40),and mentions of Roberts's stepdaughter Naomi Hamlyn. In November and December 1916 Galsworthy writes from the military convalescent home in Martouret, France, where he and his wife stayed for several months.
